How to prepare your Christmas photo baubles

Prepare your Christmas Photo Baubles

You will find clear DIY plastic baubles in most craft and gift shops over the Christmas period, and whilst we've opted for traditional round baubles you may wish to use star- or heart-shaped baubles to match your other Christmas tree decorations.

Once you have chosen your clear plastic baubles, all you will need is a pair of scissors, some string or ribbon and of course your favourite photos.

Follow these 4 simple steps to create your unique Christmas decorations in minutes.

Step 1: Open up one of your baubles and place half of it on top of your photo. Draw around the bauble with a pen to determine the size of photo required.

Step 2: Cut out your photo on the inside of this line and slot it into one half of the plastic bauble. (Bear in mind that the photo should be slightly smaller than the circle drawn so that it can fit inside the Christmas bauble perfectly).

Step 3 (Optional): Decorate the inside of the baubles with festive accessories such as artificial snow, glitter or even some festive foliage.

Step 4: Fit the two halves of the bauble back together and tie a silk ribbon or a piece of cord through the hole in the top of the bauble ready to hang it on your tree.

...and it’s as simple as that!

You can then add your unique photos straight to the Christmas tree, or wrap up your personalised Christmas baubles for loved ones using your DIY Christmas wrapping paper.

What’s more, you can change the photos each year to share your latest adventures, making your DIY Christmas baubles a new family Christmas tradition.

We all know that putting up the Christmas decorations can be hard work but personal touches like these DIY baubles are always worth the effort. In case you need a little extra motivation, you can reward yourselves with some yummy Christmas biscuits once you sit back and admire your handiwork!

Happy decorating!
