Sending your save the date cards
More than 6 months to go!
Save the date cards are a great way to announce your engagement, and can also give you the opportunity to share your favourite photo from your engagement photo shoot or you latest romantic getaway.
When should I send my save the date cards?
You should send your save the date cards at least 6 months before the wedding! Giving your guests plenty of notice before your wedding will leave them with no excuse not to join you on the day, so send out your save the dates as soon as you have chosen your wedding date and booked your venue. If you are getting married during a peak period or planning a destination wedding then send your save the date cards out as soon as possible to make sure that your guests have enough time to book the time off work and to grab those bargain flight.
Do my save the date cards have to match my wedding invitations?
There is no rule that says that your save the date cards have to match the rest of your wedding stationery, but they are your guests’ first glimpse of your wedding, so you may wish to keep the rest of the wedding stationery suite in mind when choosing your favourite design.
The sweetest suite
2-4 months to go!
If you have gotten this far then the biggest wedding-related decisions will be behind you; with a venue, caterer, florist and photographer already booked! Now it is time to get started on your wedding invitations!
At this point, you probably have a wedding theme and colour scheme in mind so you can start looking for wedding stationery that will match your wedding vision. We know that for some, it will be love at first sight when looking for wedding invitations, whilst others may find it hard to narrow down the shortlist. That is why Rosemood offers personalised samples, which allow you to see your favourite wedding invitations in print before committing to one design!
When should I send out my wedding invitations?
3-4 months before your wedding.
The wedding is now approaching fast and it doesn't get more real than putting your wedding invitations in the post box! It is never too early to send your wedding invitations, but we would recommend sending them out up to four months before your big day to make sure that your guests have all the information that they need well in advance.
Wedding invitation inserts
Use our guest information cards to share the finer details; with everything from directions, to the number of your gift list. You can also include handy RSVP cards to make it as easy as possible for your guests to let you know whether or not they are able to join you for your big day. Find out from your wedding suppliers when they will need your final headcount and set your RSVP deadline for a few weeks before. This will leave you with a couple of weeks to chase anyone who hasn’t responded.
Your big day
1-2 months to go!
With only a couple of months to go until your big day, the excitement, (and perhaps the stress), is sure to be building.
No one said planning a wedding was easy!
The wedding stationery journey doesn’t stop once you have sent out your wedding invitations, as you still need to find the perfect order of service booklets, table numbers, place cards and menu cards. Coordinated wedding stationery creates a real wow factor, so keep the same design and typography for your on-the-day stationery.
These practical pieces of wedding stationery will ensure that your guests can follow along with your wedding ceremony and that they stick to the seating plan, you slaved over for weeks!
When should I order my wedding stationery for the big day?
Order your on-the-day stationery a couple of months in advance, once you have decided on your wedding menu and have your final headcount. Make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to write out your guests’ names and the table numbers to avoid any last minute stress.
After your big day
If your wedding went better than you could have ever imagined, you probably have your friends and family to thank for that! After the high of your wedding day and the bliss of your exotic honeymoon, it is easy to forget the final element of your wedding stationery - wedding thank you cards.
Don’t let your wedding thank you cards bring you down to earth with a bump, and instead get your wedding album back out and start looking for the perfect romantic photo to share with your loved ones. Sending wedding thank you cards is an important step in making your friends and family realise how much you appreciated their help with the planning, their presence on the day and their kind gifts.
When should I send my wedding thank you cards?
Send your wedding thank you cards out within the three months after your wedding. You will want to make sure that you get your wedding thank you cards out as soon as possible, (although you may like to wait to receive your professional photos to treat your guests to a romantic picture or a group snap).
Here at Rosemood, we will make sure that all of your wedding stationery is absolutely perfect and our team will be more than happy to help you with everything from your “I dos” to your “thank yous”!
